Ring-Co Made the Connections
Ring-Co partnered with the Petty Family Foundation in 2017; this partnership arose through the recognition that one of the main focuses of both Ring-Co and the Petty Foundation is veteran support. The Petty Family, formed in 2008, has worked relentlessly to support philanthropic organizations across the country. Ring-Co also wrote letters and made contacts with local and national companies to garner funding for this TUC donation.
Nine local and national companies banded together to grant a Ring-Co TUC, tracked utility chair, to the Petty Family Foundation. Donations to cover the cost of the TUC were gathered through the end of the summer and fall. These generous donations allowed for a TUC to be presented to the Foundation during their annual Petty Charity Golf Classic on October 3-4, 2017. Through their connection with Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Petty Family Foundation, in turn, presented the TUC to Aaron Claude, a disabled US Navy veteran.
This gift could not have been possible without the support of the donors. The full list includes: Crosspoint Power and Refrigeration; Grote Industries; Jarbo Marketing; Lucas Oil; Morrell Group; PDF, Inc.; and, Taft Stettinius & Hollister.
Disabled U.S. Navy Veteran
While on active duty one night, Aaron was picking up fellow sailors from shore leave when a random shooter opened fire in the establishment’s parking lot. This senseless event changed Aaron’s life forever. Although odds seemed stacked against him, Aaron recovered, but was left paralyzed from the waist down. Despite all of this, Aaron is known for his humble, positive nature. He lives in Virginia, where he enjoys hobbies like hunting and fishing.
